Jim Bernheimer

Books, Fanfiction, Original Stories, Writing | Posted by LD May 20th, 2009

I found Jim Bernheimer’s Webpage while reading a rather good Harry Potter fanfiction called “The Lie I’ve Lived” on FFN. IT’s an interesting story and I encourage everyone to go read that.

The man is also working on several original projects, like myself, and has actually published some of them through Amazon.com and other outlets. I encourage everyone to go look at his stuff and support another talented author in anyway they can.

Should I post my fanfiction?

Fanfiction | Posted by LD November 13th, 2008

I’m curious if I should take the fanfiction links down and replace them with the actual stories or not. I’m considering it but I sort of want to leave my fanfics and original work a little separate.

Any thoughts on this?

Fanfiction

Opine | Posted by LD October 28th, 2008

Decided to post a link to all my fanfictions that are currently available on Darkscribes.org. They are all linked on their own page so give them a look and tell me what you think. Comments should be left with the stories on the DS comment system.

Favorite Fanfiction by people OTHER THEN Me

Opine | Posted by LD October 28th, 2008

I figured I would take some time and share some links to other peoples fanfictions that other people have written that I loved. The first of these are obviously Axel “Terizaki’s Child of Love” and Rakna’s “The One I Love Is”. These were two of the first fanfics I ever read and did enjoy them. They also sort of forged the way for the types of fics I found myself enjoying most.

LD’s Snippets of how I would handle other peoples Fanfics

Fanfiction | Posted by LD October 27th, 2008

Honestly there are times I read a story and can’t help but see a way I would do it better. I’ve actually gone through once and tried to completely rewrite a story and make it my own in a way. Honestly it was more like me trying to fill out how this one guy did things… and he was rather upset by how well I did with his original idea.

Who know people could get upset about doing better then them with their idea.

This is a snippet of how I would have handled Slayer’s Neon Genesis Goddess: The Second Wish. Here’s hoping he doesn’t get pissed. And I might honestly add to this later just for my own thoughts.

The Eb and Flow of Web Communities

Fan-Art, Opine, Writing | Posted by LD October 21st, 2008

Been thinking on how things have come up in the general ebbing of interest in the EFO and DS communities of late. Fact is that Eva is still an old series, and new blood coming in is really non-existent. I’m still writing on mine, but my output is so minuscule it doesn’t matter at times. Some good fics on FFN have come up lately, and I’m trying to get more going.

So Here’s a question. When something like this happens what’s the best course of action do you think? I’m not one for closing up shop, never gonna be one for that. Still it be nice to find a way to bring new life to the sites and communities. I can’t say that I’ve made friends in any of them, but then again I don’t care for a lot of people myself. Personality conflicts to the extreme. i still try to troll FFN every now and again to get some new blood for the sites but obviously it does’t always work.

So the question becomes how best to revitalize a community after 10 years where the attention span seems to be measured in seconds.

Working on Darkscribes

Writing | Posted by LD June 27th, 2007

I’ve been working hard the last month with TRParky over on Darkscribes.org trying to rearrange and reestablish the way we do things over there. We’ve basically wiped out the forums and started from scratch, brought in new blood for the moderation of the forums, and have got some new blood on the main page.

I’m interested in knowing what you guys think about the changes to www.darscribes.org and some ideas to help make it better. We’ll be adding some stuff from cafee press hopefully, which will give us some good and bad on the site.

Let me know what you think when it’s all said and done folk.
