Looks like a new idea has come from the folk using the FUSE stuff. Thanks to fuse a new project has comeup that takes a directory of FLAC music, and translates it on the fly to MP3’s for programs like Banshee, Amarok, and the like. This is especially good if you have something like an iPod and you can’t use Flac with the ipod firmware from Apple. If you are like me and use your iPod with an iPod car interface box to your radio then the open firmwares are not an option. This allows you to use your flac music much easier.
The link to the linux.com story is here. Take a read and see what you get.
On a seperate note, if you want to contribute to the how-to database just let me know.
